Outback Encounters

I just found this gorgeous tour company in Australia, called Outback Encounters.  They run outback cattle drives, flying safaris and all sorts of interesting adventures.. Now the question is, when to go and which adventure?

Tickets booked!

It's always an exciting feeling when you know you're going!  I discovered STA travel at the Morningside Shopping centre, and as I am now officially a student again, I have an International Students' card and qualify for student flights (saving a nifty R2000) - there had to be an upside to all this studying!  So the flight and the trip is booked.. now I just have to wait 236 days until December !!!!!!!

What a ride..

Love this saying and I was recently reminded of it.  Carpe diem and all that other good stuff!  Life is too short not to enjoy every moment of every day!

Fringe addiction

Ok, I am officially addicted to Fringe and I can blame Gareth for introducing me.  Thursday nights shall never be the same again!  Love this show!!

Rules for life cont..

• Ever wonder why they send professionals found guilty of tax evasion or fraud to do community service by lecturing to Varsity students…. mmm, the cycle continues. No wonder I learnt so much about adjustments, tax havens and tax avoidance.

Trip Booked!

It's done!!  My base camp trek is booked!  It's 8 months away, so there is plenty of time to prepare (although luckily I have all the kit from Kilimanjaro).. but I must say I am excited.  And now Bron, Virna or Nades may join too!

Everest Base Camp anyone?

During my MBA break at the end of the year I have decided to squeeze in a little adventure and was wondering if anyone was keen to join? It’s Everest Base Camp time my friends.. Oh, and by the way, you sleep in Tea houses, not tents.. this may be important for some!  It’ll be chilly (but great weather for photos!!) and I’m sure it won’t be just a hike in the Himalayas for Christmas and New Year… with some Rum Doodle, monks, monasteries, tea house mischief and some gorgeous scenery, this shall be a Yak safari of note! Not that we’ll be riding any Yaks, of course.. Two separate groups I know of have gone at this time of year and they said it was superb.. also not as busy on the trail!
