Gareth, Nicks, Iain and I recently returned from a whirlwind tour of Vietnam! Such fun..
After 2 nights in Ho Chi Min City in the South exploring the Cu Chi tunnels, dodging scooters as we crossed the roads, eating pho and running up a drinks bill for 2 million dong; we hopped on a plane headed for Da Nang. From Da Nang, we drove down to Hoi An to the gorgeous riverside houses. In Hoi An, we explored the early morning markets, attended a cooking class with Chef Hong and sampled much of the local cuisine and beer!
From Hoi An we flew up to Hanoi, which was bustling and busy. Far less scooters and far more dangerous to cross the road! We headed out to Halong Bay for a night on a Junk Boat, which was a blissful reprieve from the hustle of Hanoi! Upon returning to Hanoi, amidst burning buildings and the chaos of street vendors, we did manage to explore the old town, see a water puppet show and eat street food!
