Easter bunnies

Easter is one of my favourite holidays of the year and I can't wait for some downtime this weekend to celebrate!  Not forgetting some Easter eggs either!

Six months of flowers

Container Living

I find container living fascinating especially when you can achieve results like the lovely home below. It is great that this solution is catching on all over the globe to use up leftover shipping containers that are going to waste.

Rainy days

It's one of those rainy overcast dayes here that make you want to cuddle up on the couch, with a cup of tea and watch all those DVDs you have been meaning to get to!  Guess I'll just have to save that thought for the long Easter weekend coming up! Really looking forward to sleeping in and taking it a bit easier!

Catching up over cupcakes

Besides the fact that these cupcakes just look scrumptious, they just made me think of my dear friend Col who is living in Muscat.  When I visited in December, we baked cupcakes and it made me miss baking, the catch ups over tea and just chilling with a friend who knows you so well.  Thinking of you my friend, as I could do with that cup of tea!  And now I need to try and stop thinking about a scrumptious cupcake..

I loved this photo of a parisian woman at a streetside cafe.  Reminded me of all my fond memories of my trips to Paris...  so chic and so where I'd like to be right now with a cafe & croissant!

trendbook

My MBA sydicate just finished our group marketing assignment and I was so chuffed with the way it turned out.. maybe it also has something to do with the fact that I was project manager this time!  Feels like the apprentice!  We did an analysis of the top 10 global consumer trends for 2010 and whether or not they are evident here in Johannesburg and turned our poster into trendbook, with each person owning a trend page.  It's moments like this that I love my MBA!

pureDKNY

I am just loving the new pureDKNY campaign as it is a completely sustainable fragrance whilst giving back to the communities that help create it.  Now I just have to hope it smells good one me!

Dreamy dishtowels

I just love this dreaming about Daniel Craig tea towel, this would make washing dishes fun any day!  I am also excited as after a long, tough week, it is finally the weekend.  And a long weekend at that!  Yay!

Today was a good day

After a week that got off to a shocker of a start, today was actually a pretty good day!  Made a speech (twice) in front of 600 people, and managed to appear vaguely calm, cool and collected (and not trip up the stairs)!

Duvet Days

There are days when I just dream of heading home and crawling under the duvet, and today is one of them!  This photo really appealed as it is reminiscent of such forbidden fantasies!

Escapist fantasies

There are days when you just want to get away!  Today is one of those days when I just wish I could hop on a plane and escape to some exotic destination.. somewhere with a beach and a mojito!

Dressing like a French woman

Dressing like a French woman was one of my 2010 resolutions and it's something that has been on my mind for a while.  But I have made some progress:

• A gorgeous new chic scent: Prada Milano (well.. it's not French.. but European chic!)
• Sophisticated headbands, perfect for winter!
• Gorgeous, sleek heels and ballet flats are now the order of the day
• And I have asked for the Julia child cookbook for my brithday (maybe some of the French chic will rub off)

The transformation is not quite complete, but I'm making some progress!  Life is all about the journey after all!

Retail Therapy

Something that I have been eyeing for a while is this gorgeous Michael Kors watch.  And when it's on sale, a girls gotta do, what a girls gotta do..

Fall shopping list

Now that it is starting to get just a little bit chillier in the mornings, I am starting to think about scarves and jackets.. and glasses of wine and snuggling under duvets!  LOVING this fall shopping list by Anna Melcon Bond. What cozy colors!  They're not all my usual style, but for some reason, they've got me hooked!

Emersonmade

These gorgeous handmade flowers just made me smile.  Reminded me of Shiney, Happy People and even though we're headed for a chilly Autumn here in South Africa, I thought one or two of these would look gorgeous on a coat and brighten up the Winter months.

Whilst attempting to study this weekend, I found everything possible to dstract myself.  Whilst browsing the web, I can across this gorgeous wedding.  I just loved the greay and yellow, not to mention the birdcage lighting!

Girls just need to have fun

There are times in your life when you just need to have a laugh with a group of like-minded girl friends:  those who know you best!  In need of laughter and advice, Heather, Kimbo, Dari and I got together on Saturday night at Dari's gorgeous house for therapy over a few bottles of Diemersfontein Pinotage.  Lots of laughs, much planning , some star gazing and time with the girls turned out to be exactly what I needed!  You're all very special to me.  Thanks!

MBA Class of 2010/11

The GIBS 2010/11 MBA class.  This photo was taken on day 1 when we were all bright eyed, bushy tailed and blissfully unaware of what was ahead.  Needless to say there have been some drop outs since then.  My stream is half the size of the class:  I'm in the Blue Group til July and then I switch to the green Group.  Rather reminds me of pre-primary.. although I was in the yellow group then, and we did finger painting on Wednesdays..

Tea time

Sitting at my desk this morning drinking a much needed cup of tea after exams this weekend.  Nothing like a good cup of tea to start the day and get me back on my feet!
