Takin' it easy at Tshukudu

Flying out of a rainy London Heathrow on my birthday was a very easy thing to do. Especially when I knew that sunshine, happiness and a laid back time at Tshukudu bush camp (near Hoedspruit) awaited me: gentle game walks; coffee and Ouma rusks around the fire; Game drives after an afternoon nap and beating an African drum around the boma fire after a braai and some good red wine.. what more does a girl need!

London Town

A glorious sunny summery weekend in London and not needing a good excuse to head outdoors, Tristan and I headed off to the Thames for a spot of power boating with RIB (Rubber Inflatable Boat) Voyages. 90 minutes to the Thames Barrier and back, the wind in your hair as you skim slalem style on along past Canary wharf and no annoying tourist commentay (or clicking cameras as the boat was bobbing and weaving too fast at one stage to let go of the seat in front), it was an awesome experience and a new way to see London. Highly recomended. Not to mention near by Gabriel's wharf for a bit to eat there after.

Cruising the canals in Amsterdam

Heading off on Friday after work, I flew out of London City airport to join Tristan and some of his work colleagues in Amsterdam for the weekend. After a chilled Friday night, we headed out on Saturday morning for a leisurely cruise along the canals in Amsterdam. A few hours and many photos later, we then headed to the Heineken experience for a taste of authentic Dutch culture: Beer drinking. Thereafter, I think focus was slightly lost as we strolled through streets and stumbled upon the Gay Pride weekend Canal Float Parade. Freaky Deaky Dutch!

A Midsummer Night's Dream

Braving a rather wet English Summer, my department at work remained optimistic as we headed out for a picnic under the trees at Regents' Park, followed by the showing of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' at the Open Air Theatre.
